Boldyn Networks expands 5G connectivity projects in Germany with focus on industry and transport

1 December, 2025 | Munich, Germany

Boldyn Networks (Boldyn), a world leading provider of shared network infrastructure and private networks, is expanding its presence in Germany. The company’s recent integration of Munich-based Smart Mobile Labs (SML), known for its work in private 5G networks, has enabled Boldyn to support high-profile deployments for organisations such as Deutsche Bahn AG, the University of Kaiserslautern, and SWR to name a few.

With years in telecommunications and over a decade of experience in private networks, Boldyn has deployed more than 130 mobile private networks worldwide for major customers across transport, manufacturing, heavy industry, healthcare, defense and the public sector. Recently recognised a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Private 5G Services, Q4 2025 report, the company specialises in connecting challenging environments such as nuclear power plants and open-pit and underground mines while offering flexible delivery models to meet diverse customer needs.

Supporting digital transformation in Germany

Germany is expected to become one of the largest private networks markets in Europe over the next decade. Boldyn currently operates more than 60 private 5G network sites in Germany and employs a team of +20 experts dedicated to designing and deploying bespoke connectivity solutions for this growing demand. Also, offers customers in Germany its Private 5G as a Service, the first of its kind in the industry which aims to simplify the deployment and management of private networks.

To address the growing need for reliable communications in mission-critical environments, Boldyn’s team in Germany has developed a proprietary solution that is transforming operations in heavy industry like mines, automotive, ports and airports. Voice and video communications enabled by private networks can deliver predictable outcomes like emergency response, geo-location services, remote safety and visible operational improvements.

Klaus Nagora, CEO Germany at Boldyn Networks, says: “Germany is one of the most exciting growth markets for Boldyn. Our pioneering private network solutions are creating the conditions that enable companies in this country to lead the way in digital transformation.”

Rüediger Hnyk, COO of Boldyn Networks Germany, adds: "Our goal is to translate complex connectivity requirements into robust, easy-to-use solutions. With our experienced team in Germany and Boldyn's global expertise, we deliver private 5G networks that are unparalleled today and designed for tomorrow's applications."

Flagship project with Deutsche Bahn

Boldyn Networks signed a framework agreement with Deutsche Bahn AG, for the planning, delivery, construction and operation of 5G campus networks, valued in the double-digit million-euro range.

The project utilizes local spectrum in the 3.7 to 3.8 GHz range and features customized system solutions based on standalone 5G architecture, supporting advanced features such as eSIM profiles, network slicing, and 5G RedCap.

This collaboration aims to support Deutsche Bahn’s efforts to automate processes in maintenance, logistics, and operations, reduce downtime, and optimize network capacity. It exemplifies how Boldyn implements powerful, secure, and customized networks for industrial applications.

Global market leader with proven track record

Boldyn Networks is the connectivity partner of choice for customers across various sectors, including transport systems (London Underground, New York Subway), aviation (Helsinki Airport), maritime (Port of Kokkola, OPCSA Port), industry (BASF Tarragona), and healthcare (Oulu University Hospital). The company also supports smart city initiatives, such as Roma5G in Rome, and Sunderland in the UK, and provides connectivity for stadiums, universities, and military bases, primarily in North America.
